Want to build your own breadboard-compatible Arduino? Get all the basic features of the Arduino in a tidy package with the Ardweeny: the smallest Arduino you can build yourself with through-hole components!
Ardweeny
: The Smallest Arduino-Compatible Kit!

Now you can build the smallest, handiest, breadboard friendly Arduino-compatible microcontroller. The Ardweeny fits on the back of the included Atmel ATmega328, and takes up no more valuable breadboard space than the microcontroller itself!
The backpack printed-circuit board fits on top of the ATmega168, straddling it. Just solder the pins to the microcontroller's legs, and you're ready to join the open-source hardware revolution!
Ardweeny
's features:
- Fully Arduino-compatible
- Stacks onto the back of an ATmega328 chip (included)
- Takes same 28-pin footprint as the ATmega328
- Ideal for breadboard applications
- Dimensions: 1.60" x 0.54"
- Simple construction - only 7 parts plus pins & PCB
- Features Pin-13 LED and reset button
Requires external USB-to-TTL FTDI-type cable or adapter (Jameco P/N 2117341)
The FTDI adapter can power the Ardweeny and the other circuitry on the breadboard, if you connect the ‘+’ and ‘GND’ pins to the breadboard power rails.

What’s great about the Ardweeny
is that it takes up the same footprint as the ATmega328 chip by itself. Simply plug it into your breadboard or PCB, attach the programming header, set the Arduino IDE for “Arduino Duemilanove w/ ATmega328”, and you're ready to upload your sketches.
